Finishing is the last stage of textile processing, and the one that the end buyer actually experiences.
Hand feel, drape, whiteness, wrinkle recovery, moisture management, pilling resistance: none of these come from the fabric alone. They are built in at the finishing stage through the precise application of chemical auxiliaries. For mills, this is where the product either meets the buyer’s specification or falls short of it. A fabric that dyes well but finishes poorly still fails inspection. Finishing auxiliaries are what translate a technically processed fabric into a commercially accepted one
Silicone softeners like GLIDEX® PRIME deliver premium ultra-smooth handle with low yellowing, preferred for apparel and high-end home textiles. Cationic softeners like REVILON® KCP provide cost-effective general softening across all fibre types. Plant-origin options like REVILON® CEQ Plus also offer hydrophilic character where softness and moisture management are both required.
Not when correctly applied. GLIDEX® HCFQ Plus and GLIDEX® ASP are engineered to maintain or enhance hydrophilicity alongside softness, unlike conventional silicones that can impair water absorption. REVILON® CEQ Plus is also hydrophilic in nature, making it suited to towelling and other end uses where moisture management is required alongside softness
Yes. GLIDEX® and REVILON® are suitable for padding and exhaust application, including continuous stenter finishing. GLIDEX® RUN is specifically formulated for long runnability in continuous padding. Dosage guidance is available from our technical team for each specific substrate and application configuration.
Our range is APEO-NPEO free and ZDHC MRSL aligned, with GOTS 6.0 certification. PRESTOFIN® R-FF and R-FFC are formaldehyde-free easy-care resins suited to GOTS-certified finishing programmes. For OEKO-TEX Standard 100 requirements, product-level documentation is available to support your certification application.
Finishing chemicals define end-use suitability and what the end buyer actually experiences.
A towel that loses softness after five washes fails the consumer. A sportswear fabric that stops wicking after the first laundry cycle fails the brand. A shirting fabric with poor wrinkle recovery fails the retailer. Each outcome is determined by finishing chemistry, what was applied, at what concentration, and how well it was retained after washing.
For mills supplying apparel, home textiles, and performance wear markets, getting finishing right is the minimum requirement for repeat orders.
Our finishing range is built around the performance requirements of the end product, not just the finishing process. Five product families cover every functional finishing requirement from premium silicone handle through organic softening, stiffening and body building, easy-care resin finishing, and colour deepening, to thread lubrication for yarn and garment manufacturing.
The REVILON® range covers cationic, non-ionic, and specialty organic softeners for all fibre types, alongside polyethylene wax emulsions for sewability improvement and yarn lubrication. Products span plant-origin sustainable options through to cost-effective general-purpose softeners and specialist formulations for white textiles, polyester, and yarn processing.
Plant-origin softeners reduce petrochemical-derived chemistry in the finishing bath and support eco-label and GOTS-certified supply chain requirements.
Cationic softener flakes offer storage efficiency, easy handling, and dissolution flexibility for mills that prepare softener baths from solid form.
Yellowing at stenter temperatures is one of the most critical limitations of conventional cationic softeners, particularly problematic for white and pastel fabrics where even minimal shade shift is commercially unacceptable.
Polyethylene wax emulsions improve sewability and tear strength by lubricating the fibre-to-fibre and fibre-to-needle interface during cutting and sewing operations, reducing needle-hole formation and yarn breakage in high-speed garment manufacturing.
GLIDEX® is our flagship silicone finishing series, delivering premium hand feel across all fibre types. The range is structured into four technology platforms, Elite Micro Amino Silicone, Elite Macro Amino Silicone, Velvety Block Silicone, and Hydra Hydrophilic Silicone, each engineered for a distinct handle profile and end-use requirement, from luxurious inner softness and feather-like feel through to moisture-management-compatible hydrophilic softening for knit and towelling substrates.
Micro amino silicones deliver softness at the molecular level, the smaller amino-functional silicone chain penetrates deeper into the fibre structure, producing an inner softness and smooth surface feel that is distinct from the surface-coating character of macro or block silicones.
Macro amino silicones produce a distinctive surface smoothness and a handle profile that differs from micro amino, the larger chain length creates a different sensory feel characterised by special surface smoothness.
Block silicones are high-molecular-weight silicone emulsions that deposit a durable, robust coating on the fibre surface, delivering a velvety, smooth handle with good shear stability and broad pH compatibility, making them particularly suited to pigment-printed fabrics where the silicone must perform over a binder film.
Hydrophilic silicones solve one of the fundamental tensions in textile finishing: conventional silicones improve handle but impair moisture absorption and wicking, making them unsuitable for towelling, sportswear, and activewear applications where both softness and water management must coexist.
Performance fabrics for sportswear, activewear, and technical end uses require functional finishes that go beyond handle, providing moisture management, anti-static behaviour, and wash-durable comfort.
Colour deepening agents are applied at the finishing stage to enhance the perceived depth of shade on dyed polyester and blended fabrics without additional dyeing, particularly effective on polyester where achieving deep blacks, navies, and other dark shades is inherently limited by the dye-fibre interaction.
Sewing thread lubricants reduce friction in high-speed sewing and embroidery operations, preventing thread breakage, needle heating, and loop formation that cause production stoppages.
GLIDEX® STL Ultra, GLIDEX® STL Conc., and GLIDEX® STL are non-aqueous sewing thread lubricants for lick roll application on sewing and embroidery threads, all three share the same functional profile: excellent non-aqueous lubrication, quick-drying after application, no fungal growth on finished threads, and compatibility with both sewing and embroidery thread production. The Ultra, Conc., and standard grades offer dosage flexibility for different thread types and application conditions.
The AMBITAC® range provides body, stiffness, and drape modification for textile substrates where the end use demands a structured handle, shirting and bottom weights that require crispness, home textiles that need body and drape, and woven fabrics that require dimensional stability during cutting and sewing.
PRESTOFIN® resins cross-link cellulosic fibres to impart durable press, easy-care performance, and wrinkle recovery, the chemical finishing that allows cotton shirting and bottom-weight fabrics to hold their shape through washing and wear.
Easy-care resins, low formaldehyde & formaldehyde-free
GLIDEX® PRIME, micro amino, and REVILON® KCP improve softness, drape, and sewability. REVILON® SEW and TSIM improve tear strength for garment manufacturing. PRESTOFIN® R-FF delivers easy-care performance on shirting and bottom weights.
Home textiles
GLIDEX® HCFQ Plus and REVILON® CEQ Plus are designed for softness, absorbency, and durability in towels, bed linen, and made-up goods, combining hydrophilicity and softness in a single application.
Sportswear & activewear
GLIDEX® ASP supports moisture management, anti-static performance, and wash-durable comfort on polyester and nylon. REVILON® PTM provides non-yellowing softening with anti-static function for polyester substrates.
Denim & technical textiles
GLIDEX® P 180 improves softness and dimensional stability for denim. REVILON® CLF reduces abrasion during garment processing. AMBITAC® body builders provide structural body for technical woven applications.
REVILON® CEQ Plus and REVILON® KCP Ultra are plant-origin cationic softeners, reducing petrochemical-derived chemistry in the finishing bath. High exhaustion and affinity in GLIDEX® and REVILON® formulations means more chemistry deposits onto the fibre and less enters the effluent stream, directly reducing finishing bath discharge load.
PRESTOFIN® R-FF and R-FFC provide formaldehyde-free easy-care finishing for mills supplying GOTS-certified and export RSL-compliant programmes. The full range is APEO-NPEO free and ZDHC MRSL aligned. Neochem holds ZDHC Level 3 and GOTS 6.0 certification, manufactured under ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 at our Moraiya, Ahmedabad facility.
Consistent hand feel across production batches – Softness that varies between orders creates buyer complaints no mill can absorb. Our finishing range is built for consistency from the first batch to the hundredth.
